A round or near-round column puts the outlet higher off the floor than a cabinet heater, so warm air travels further before it settles. The trade-off is a slightly narrower grille — the fan is tuned for it.
Controls sit on top where you can reach them without crouching. Two heat levels, a fan-only setting, and an overheat cut-off that resets itself once the unit cools.

Care
Wipe the housing with a dry or slightly damp cloth while unplugged. Vacuum the intake grille every few weeks during the season — dust on the intake is the most common reason a heater feels weaker in February than it did in November. Never run it under a towel or blanket, and keep at least a foot of clearance on all sides.
Plugging it in safely
Built with a tip-over cut-off and a thermal cut-off that kill power before the housing gets hot enough to matter. Plug it straight into a wall outlet — a space heater is the one appliance that should never share a power strip or an extension cord. Keep a foot of clearance on all sides.
