Glass on two faces, a bed of glowing embers between them, and flame that keeps moving after you stop looking at it. The effect is LED behind a diffuser, so nothing gets hot except the air coming out the front.

Heating is 1,200 W through a small PTC core with a fan behind it — enough to take the chill off a desk or a kitchen counter without turning the room into a sauna. The flame runs with the heat off.

Care

Wipe the housing with a dry or slightly damp cloth while unplugged. Vacuum the intake grille every few weeks during the season — dust on the intake is the most common reason a heater feels weaker in February than it did in November. Never run it under a towel or blanket, and keep at least a foot of clearance on all sides.

Built with a tip-over cut-off and a thermal cut-off that kill power before the housing gets hot enough to matter. Plug it straight into a wall outlet — a space heater is the one appliance that should never share a power strip or an extension cord. Keep a foot of clearance on all sides.
